- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department relies on nearly 250,000 annual harvest surveys (with a 20-40% response rate) to estimate big game harvests, using methods refined since the 1940s to guide future wildlife management decisions and publish results online. KING FM
- ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation launched two new specialty license plates (Search and Rescue and Rodeo) on Jan. 1 to support local rescue and rodeo programs. Buyers can purchase them at county treasurer offices, with limited low and special-number plates requiring future sales targets to become permanent. KING FM
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming tight end John Michael Gyllenborg received an invitation to the Senior Bowl, set for Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1:30 p.m. CT at South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium after he posted 24 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown in his final season game. KING FM
- ➤ During holiday break, Wyoming prep wrestling Week 3 will see in-state action as Kemmerer takes part in a dual at Pinedale on Saturday, with other teams traveling for out-of-state tournaments in Nebraska, Montana, and Utah (including Cheyenne Central’s dual match in Nebraska). KGAB
- ➤ The University of Wyoming wrestling team will compete at the Soldier Salute Tournament this weekend at Xtreme Arena in Coralville (Iowa). This final tournament before the March Big 12 Tournament will give the Cowboys a chance to shake off rust against a tough lineup. KGAB
