  • The Cheyenne NAACP will host its annual MLK March — starting at 12:00 p.m. from The Depot and ending at the Wyoming State Capitol — on Monday, Jan. 19 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with civil rights advocates Michael Tyler and Rev. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Saphearya Brownson, a senior at Triumph High, was named LCSD1 Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 19. She is recognized for her hard work in class and positive attitude and will graduate at the end of the quarter with plans to attend Job Corps for a culinary career.  Cap City News

  • The Joint Appropriations Committee approved $15 million from a tourism tax fund in its draft budget to lure the PRCA to Wyoming. Lawmakers stated the funding is expected to create 85 high-paying jobs & spur construction of a new museum and headquarters.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Cheyenne-based lawyer Brian J. Hanify (one of 11 attorneys) was suspended by the Wyoming Supreme Court for not paying his annual license fee; he must pay the fee and petition for reinstatement to practice law again.  Cap City News
