  • U.S. Gold Corp. secured $31.2M in private financing for its CK Gold Mine project west of Cheyenne on Dec. 23. The funding will support further exploration in the area.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Alta Vista Elementary School was recently honored by Solution Tree for its success in raising student achievement, school officials said in Cheyenne. The recognition highlights the school's ongoing efforts in building a model Professional Learning Community (PLC) program.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Eighth-grade student Sophia Meese from McCormick Junior High will be honored as LCSD1 Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 26 because she excels in academics and extracurricular activities.   • Cheyenne-based Reiman Corp won $16M in highway contracts when it was awarded a $13.5M bid for bridge replacement (across I-25, Hwy 320 and Hwy 94) and a $3M bid for bridge repairs in select counties, with work set to finish by November 2027.  Cap City News

  • University of Wyoming wrestlers will travel this weekend when the No. 23 Cowboys face No. 19 West Virginia at Hope Coliseum at 4 p.m. in Morgantown; the team leads the all-time series 5-1 and will return home for a dual with Oregon State on Jan. 31 at 3 p.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country
