- ➤ Cheyenne will host its first Annual Bowl for Jason’s Friends event Saturday, March 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Derby Lanes — organized by Dorothy’s mom, Payton, the fundraiser supports Wyoming families facing childhood cancer by covering travel and treatment costs. Cap City News

- ➤ Cheyenne comedy fans can see Cody Woods and local Dominic Syracuse perform on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at The Metropolitan Downtown - a Comedy that Cares series event - benefiting the Unaccompanied Students Initiative for homeless students. Cap City News

- ➤ AAA data shows Laramie County's regular gasoline price increased 19 cents this week to $2.65 per gallon, while Wyoming’s state average went up 4 cents to $2.68 (the cheapest fuel was at Moody’s Rock Stop). Cap City News

- ➤ Eliza Scranton, a senior at Central High, was named LCSD1 Student of the Week for Feb. 16 because of her academic excellence, leadership on student council, and club involvement (she maintains a 4.0 GPA and serves as class secretary). Cap City News
- ➤ After a House funding measure for K-12 public schools failed to reach the required two-thirds majority, the Senate reintroduced a new bill this week and sent it to the Senate Education Committee for review (Sen. Tim Salazar called the outcome surprising). The measure may affect teacher pay and class sizes. Cap City News

- ➤ Birdwatchers spotted early arrivals such as raptors, geese, and yellowrumped warblers in Wyoming this winter before the Great Backyard Bird Count took place Feb. 13 to 16 (open to all ages) to help scientists update bird conservation data. KING FM
- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced the 11 winners of the 2026 Super Tag raffle, offering rare hunting licenses that boost conservation through funding for habitat and wildlife safety initiatives (with some winners coming from across the nation and Canada). - ➤ Rancher Ty Checketts testified at a Capitol Hill Senate hearing this week, urging lawmakers to pass the Grasslands Grazing Act that would offer ranchers using National Grasslands the same 10-year permits available elsewhere. - ➤ Cheyenne Mayor Collins is working with city staff to find a new rule for WY Fresh Farm — annexation may limit their chicken count. The urban farm at 200 Walterscheid Boulevard and its 50 partner growers have strong local backing after lengthy customer testimony. KGAB
