  • Jason’s Friends will host the 28th Annual Bowl for Jason’s Friends on Saturday, Feb. 28 at El Mark-O Lanes in Casper while additional events in Gillette and Cheyenne (supporting 182 families facing cancer challenges) are scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 7.  Cap City News

  • Cheyenne-based Bison Beverage announced it purchased Casper’s Connect Beverage as part of its ongoing market consolidation. The deal, finalized earlier this month, expands its distribution network across Wyoming + aims to boost efficiency while keeping current staff in place.  Cap City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • A WalletHub study (a personal finance website) ranked Wyoming as the least sinful state by evaluating 54 key indicators such as violent crimes and excessive drinking. Cheyenne residents can enjoy a quiet bragging right about their state's record compared with its neighbors.  KGAB

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Wyoming have ticked to $2.66 per gallon this week, a 16-cent rise from last month while staying about 28 cents below last year's rate, and national prices are climbing amid higher crude oil costs plus local pipeline and refinery disruptions affecting supply.  KING FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hunters born after 1966 must complete a Wyoming Hunter Education Course before hunting, and sessions run in-person and online from March to September. Cheyenne’s classes are held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, while Casper and Laramie offer similar instruction (all at $5).  KGAB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wyoming lawmakers debated funding for cheatgrass spraying as House members voted to keep spending at $8M while Senate restored the full $13M for invasive species treatments. The decision will be finalized in a conference committee - addressing concerns from ranchers and wildlife experts.  Cap City News
  • On Monday, University of Wyoming criticized state lawmakers’ budget amendment that left a $20 million cut with conditions requiring savings by Dec. 1. The university said it opposes any reduction in its budget while discussions with state leaders continued.  Cowboy State Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cheyenne’s Dorothy Pontillo beat cancer after her relentless parents pushed for answers and proper treatment. She was treated with chemo and surgery from June until September—local help from Jason’s Friends kept the family focused on recovery as Dorothy now thrives.  Cowboy State Daily

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Wyoming Cowboys will face Boise State tonight at ExtraMile Arena at 7 p.m. as they try to break a seven-game road skid after a 70-65 win last Saturday (the game is streamed on MW Network).  KGAB
  • Freshman forward Simm-Marten Saadi scored a career-high 13 points in a 70-65 upset win over Grand Canyon on Saturday, fueling a strong second half that helped the Cowboys overcome an early cold start—coach Sundance Wicks cautioned his team to keep him in check during the game.  KGAB
