Good morning, Cheyenne. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 27th of March.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Wyoming’s population grew by about 2,000 residents in 2025 from net migration (the main driver) rather than natural births. Gains in counties like Laramie and Niobrara were offset by losses in rural areas as the state’s residents continue to age.  KING FM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cheyenne families now pay up to 67% more for Easter candy, so spending $93 in 2020 now buys about 40% less candy — local households must adjust their budgets for cherished holiday traditions.  KING FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School administrators in Cheyenne remain cautious as officials await guidance on a new state school funding bill that changes local spending rules. The district is set to release a preliminary budget in May and may need to adjust its allocations, with some areas losing funding— such as for student activities.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Over half of Wyoming counties registered population growth last year, with estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau showing 588,753 residents statewide as of July 2025 — a sign of positive change for local communities.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
