  • Care for Caregivers training series will return to Cheyenne for its second season starting May 5 — organizers said the five-week program will offer dinner and expert presentations on topics including legal planning, caregiver health, and financial management.   • Cattle producers and the beef industry are looking at record prices for beef and expect prices to remain high or even increase over the next couple of years as low heifer retention keeps supply tight. CRIME NEWS

  • A Verizon cell tower worker was shot in the thigh near Warm Springs Trace while three U.S. Air Force members were shooting targets on federal land outside Guernsey at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday—he was airlifted to a Cheyenne hospital and later released for surgery while authorities continue to collect evidence and ensure public safety.  Cowboy State Daily
  • A 29-year-old Cheyenne transient was arrested on additional drug possession charges after a vehicle breakdown on East Pershing Boulevard and Salem Road on March 24 at 11:37 p.m. — officers said she missed a previous court date, was found with suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, and had a $3,000 cash bond set with her arraignment scheduled for April 2 at 3:30 p.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Police arrested a 29-year-old Cheyenne transient on Monday, March 24 at 11:37 p.m. when her blue Honda minivan with a broken axle blocked traffic on East Pershing Boulevard and Salem Road, and officers found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana on her; she now faces new drug charges and an active warrant for failing to appear, with a bond set at $3,000 and her next hearing scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m.  KGAB

  • Caleb Liddle – a seventh grade student at Johnson Junior High – was selected as Laramie County School District 1 Student of the Week for the week of March 31 in recognition of his strong academic performance and kind character.  Cap City News

  • Governor Mark Gordon announced that both the U.S. and Wyoming flags will be returned to full staff at sunset on March 31—after being lowered at half-staff since March 14 following former U.S. Senator Al Simpson's death.  Cap City News
  • More than 100 Wyoming attorneys and judges, including former Gov. Mike Sullivan and former Supreme Court justices, sent a letter on March 26th urging the congressional delegation to denounce harsh rhetoric against judges — the letter warned that such attacks could harm the constitutional balance.  Cowboy State Daily
  • A federal appeals court decision now permits corner crossing on 3 million acres of public land across Wyoming and five other states — a change prompting ranchers to worry about conflicts with livestock — while lawmakers plan to study potential new conditions on access.  Cap City News
