ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cheyenne drivers face rising gas prices today as Laramie County’s rate climbs to $3.71 per gallon — national averages near $4 and diesel hits record highs since 2022 thanks to a blocked Strait of Hormuz.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wyoming regulators took control of coal ash permitting after EPA approved a partial state-led program on March 30. The move places the state among four others and may speed up permit decisions while the EPA retains some authority.  KING FM
  • The Laramie County Planning Commission voted last week to recommend an expansion permit for Horse Creek Rock Quarry near Cheyenne + the permit is expected to allow operators to boost production if approved.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Cheyenne Fire Rescue, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Laramie County Fire Authority and Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management Agency will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Apr. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center to discuss planned prescribed burns on the base (set for April 12-25) and detail safety measures and ecological benefits.  City of Cheyenne

HEALTH NEWS

  • A refreshed Trace One analysis (a national study) finds that Wyoming residents were impacted by 414 food recalls since 2021, ranking the state high nationally. The study tracked food recalls affecting consumers over the past five years.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
