CRIME NEWS

  • An 18-year-old Cheyenne man reportedly took his grandmother’s Kia without permission and crashed it into a curb at McDonald’s on March 27 at 2:49 a.m., driving without headlights, and he now faces felony theft along with misdemeanor charges for lacking a driver’s license and property destruction — his bond was set at $1,000 with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 7 at 10:30 a.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • An 18-year-old Cheyenne man, Vincent Christopher Gardea, took his grandmother's Kia without permission and crashed it into a curb at McDonald's on March 27th at 2:49 a.m., and he was charged with felony theft, driving without a license, and property damage with a bond set at $1,000.  KING FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Mark Gordon announced that Nathaniel Hibben will serve as the new Laramie County District Court Judge beginning May 9 as he replaces retiring Judge Stephen Sharpe. Hibben has served as a Circuit Court Judge in Torrington since 2019 (and previously worked as a municipal judge, attorney and public defender) and will take on his new role then.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • On March 4, Laramie County commissioners met at 3:30 p.m. at 2020 Carey Ave—reviewing a renewed permit request from Artillery World Fireworks for seasonal fireworks sales after a previous denial for disruptive business practices. They also held public hearings on related fireworks permit requests and considered a lease for an RC car track and a resolution for parimutuel wagering on live horse racing.  Cap City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wyoming officials reported that Savage Cat Food Large Chicken Boxes 84 ounces and Small Chicken Boxes 21 ounces were recalled due to possible H5N1 contamination—cat owners are urged to check their supplies and return the product if found. Those handling the food are advised to watch for flu-like symptoms in themselves and signs of illness in their pets and to seek help if needed.  KGAB
