ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An 18-year-old Montana student attending WyoTech was killed near Centennial on March 23 while helping a disabled truck on WY 130; while talking with the truck driver, he was struck by a moving Ford F-150— the driver was cited for not noticing the lane blockage— in a fatal accident reported by the Wyoming Highway Patrol. - ➤ On March 28, a 41-year-old Cheyenne woman with a history of theft was charged with four counts of felony theft—she appeared in court on March 31 where her bond was set at $5,000 and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 9. KING FM
- ➤ A Cheyenne man identified as Taigen Freeman faced felony charges after he rear-ended a motorcyclist on Tuesday at 4:36 p.m. at the intersection of Interstate 180 and Interstate 80—records show he fled the scene after saying the rider scared him. Cap City News

- ➤ Former U.S. Senator Al Simpson was honored at a memorial service at the Christ Episcopal Church in Cody on March 31, 2025—his family and local leaders shared warm memories of his humor and commitment to Wyoming. Simpson died on March 14, 2025, and tributes celebrated his deep ties and lasting influence on the state. Cap City News
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Laramie County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution allowing Wyoming Downs LLC to offer pari-mutuel wagering on live, historic and simulcast horse racing at Terry Ranch Business Park, Tract 4. President Kyle Ridgeway said the permit transfers from the current Senators site to a new facility — with the county gaining local oversight over the five-year license term. Cap City News
- ➤ The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities reminded residents Tuesday of the new annual watering schedule that prohibits watering lawns, trees, and gardens between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from April 1 to Nov. 30 and allows lawns to be watered only three days per week. The schedule is in place (to reduce water waste) (in preparation for potential Colorado River curtailments). Cap City News
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Laramie County Board of Commissioners postponed public hearings for seasonal fireworks permits submitted by Breanna Elliott's Artillery World Fireworks and Jurassic Fireworks — new documents were submitted by her representative leading to the delay. County Attorney Mark Voss said he had not had enough time to review the documents and the board will revisit the issue at the next meeting on April 15. Cap City News
- ➤ Gov. Mark Gordon and the Wyoming Department of Revenue announced that the property tax refund program is now open to eligible homeowners facing high tax bills for 2024. Homeowners must pay their taxes in full and file complete applications by June 2 to receive a refund—up to one-half of the median property tax or 75 percent of their bill—and those who meet income, residency and asset requirements will be mailed an application this mid-April—backed by an extra $10.5 million appropriation from the Legislature.
