CRIME NEWS

  • A 27-year-old Carpenter man was charged with a second count of aggravated robbery for taking part in two armed robberies in Cheyenne last month—his preliminary hearing is set for April 11 at 10:30 a.m.—as police continue their investigation.  KGAB
  • Ricky James Dougherty, a 45 year old Cheyenne man, was arrested on March 28 at 5:00 p.m. at the Sinclair Gas Station on W. Lincolnway after he reportedly used movie prop money to buy fast food—he is charged with felony forgery and possession of meth residue and is set to appear in court on April 9.  KGAB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Records show that Wyoming Attorney General Bridget Hill has not filed charges on any of the 16 election complaints referred to her office by Secretary of State Chuck Gray and is still investigating eight cases—Gray described the inaction as deeply troubling and recommended removal of a Weston County clerk for errors in the 2024 election.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Laramie County commissioners approved an agreement Tuesday to purchase water at $9.50 per 1,000 gallons from Riata Water for construction purposes. The decision was part of a consent agenda—bundling several items without prior discussion.  Cap City News
  • The Laramie County Board of Commissioners approved a lease that lets the Southeast Wyoming RC Club run a track on part of the county-owned Archer Research Station property until December 2027 — the club will pay an annual fee of $100 and follow rules for dust control, noise limits, insurance and participant waivers.  Cap City News
  • Cheyenne Sanitation Division will resume its residential yard waste program Monday, April 7 with a Monday to Thursday pickup schedule; residents must leave green-lid bins on the street by 6 a.m. as letters detail pickup days and branch collection occurs on the third Thursday each month (the compost facility accepts yard waste Tuesday to Saturday with extended Sunday hours from May 4 through September).  Cap City News
