CRIME NEWS

  • The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public help after two guns were stolen from an SUV in south Cheyenne between March 16 and March 17 — a bronze Glock 17 in 9mm and a Benelli 12-gauge shotgun were taken.  KGAB
  • A 22-year-old Cheyenne man, Justice Earl Geho, was arrested on felony theft and two misdemeanor drug possession charges after leaving a seller unpaid for a $3,300 Pokémon card at Loaf N’ Jug on Vandehei Ave on Thursday — police later located him and found suspected drugs in his blue 2016 Ford Focus.  Cap City News

  • Prolift Rigging Co. opened a Cheyenne office at 1603 Capitol Ave., Suite 413 and described Cheyenne as an ideal spot for data centers because of its stable infrastructure, renewable power and tax incentives—officials expect this move to attract more digital investments. Mayor Collins said that as companies like Meta and Microsoft prepare to invest further, the city will see a boost in its digital economy—local leaders are confident in Cheyenne’s growing role in the tech industry.  Cowboy State Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Aaniya Patel, a senior at Central High School, was selected as LCSD1 Student of the Week for the week of April 7 because of her strong academics and club involvement—she maintains a 4.0 GPA, works two jobs, volunteers at the county library and has published two books. She will study chemical engineering at the University of Wyoming with a Trustees Scholarship after graduation.  Cap City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Crews from the City of Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division will begin spraying spruce trees during the week of April 7 to prevent ips beetle infestation in City parks and on City-owned properties. The crews will spray the entire trunk and larger branches on calm days—residents are asked to avoid parking and stay clear of the work areas.  City of Cheyenne

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wyoming Supreme Court suspended seven attorneys for failing to complete the required 15 hours of continuing legal education — the list includes Cheyenne attorney Katelyn M. Krabbenhoft and one attorney from Etna.  KING FM
  • The Wyoming Supreme Court suspended seven attorneys for failing to complete 15 hours of continuing legal education including two hours of legal ethics each year. Two Wyoming attorneys — Katelyn M. Krabbenhoft from Cheyenne and Edmond Petrus from Etna — did not meet these requirements, which included paying required fees by March 1st.  KGAB
  • Cheyenne Fire Rescue earned national accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International this week—making it one of only about 300 fire departments in the nation to receive the honor. The department, which has served Cheyenne for 115 years with over 100 employees and six stations, will keep working to keep the community safe.  Cap City News
