- ➤ In 2015, paleontologist Emanuel Tschopp confirmed that Wyoming’s famous thunder lizard, Brontosaurus, is a separate dinosaur from Apatosaurus after 112 years of being merged; his study identified three distinct species—B. excelsus, B. parvus, and B. yahnahpin—and future research will test these findings. - ➤ A giant X of orangish rock appears along Wyoming Highway 34 in Sybille Canyon—formed when intrusive magma created intersecting dikes in the Laramie Mountains. Experts say the formation does not mark buried treasure—geologists note that similar dikes appear across the region. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ Antler enthusiasts in Cheyenne and across Wyoming can begin shed and horn hunting this spring—many public, state and wildlife management lands remain closed until early May to protect winter ranges.
