  • Monday's Cowboy State Daily Video News reported that the natural gas provider selection period will end April 23rd while UW faced controversy after an engineering dean was demoted amid claims of budget missteps. The report also noted that Gen Z are opting for trade schools over four-year colleges, a Wyoming native died in a bullriding accident in Texas, and local experts discussed a coin collecting craze and a bear spray safety demo in Lander.  Cowboy State Daily

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Dylan Grant, a 24-year-old former University of Wyoming bull rider from Laramie, died on Thursday night after being bucked off a bull at the Wharton County Youth Fair Xtreme Bulls event in Wharton, Texas — medics rushed him to an ambulance and then to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston where he was pronounced dead.  Cap City News

  • A Cody woman was arrested Friday after refusing to leave Wholesale Fireworks on W. College Drive and acting erratically; deputies forced entry into her car—discovering drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and other evidence—and she now faces charges including felony DUI, criminal trespass, and marijuana possession.  Cap City News
  • A 22-year-old Cheyenne man, Justice Earl Geho, was charged on Friday with felony theft and drug possession for a Pokémon card deal gone wrong — he also admitted to burgling a showroom by stealing a Ryobi snow blower, police said.  Cowboy State Daily
  • A 23-year-old Cheyenne man named Taigen John Freeman intentionally rear-ended a motorcyclist at 4:36 p.m. on April 1 at the Interstate 180 and Interstate 80 intersection — knocking the rider off the bike and fleeing the scene before admitting his actions, and he now faces felony charges for aggravated assault and battery with a $6,000 cash bond.  KGAB

  • Zonta Club of Cheyenne is accepting artwork in its 10th Annual Art Contest themed 'Bystanders Can be Heroes: End Domestic Violence' with submissions dropped off at the REMAX office at 4000 Central Ave. until 4 p.m. April 25—art will be on display at the Cheyenne Civic Center from April 30 with a reception on May 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Cap City News

  • Cheyenne drivers saw local gas prices rise faster than the national average as Laramie County prices increased 15 cents to $3.14 on Monday—compared to a 10.6 cent gain nationally, the local cost remains among the state’s lowest.  Cap City News

  • On March 17 at 6 p.m., the Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees met at the Storey Gym Boardroom to consider adopting a new Spanish Language Arts curriculum for kindergarten through fifth grade and discuss the 2026-2027 school year calendar.  Cap City News
  • Climb Wyoming is offering free Certified Nursing Assistant training to Cheyenne single moms that will help them start careers in hospitals, clinics, long-term care, and home health. Info meetings will be held on April 16th from noon to 1 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Climb’s downtown Cheyenne office (123 East 17th Street) but childcare is not provided.  Cap City News
