- ➤ A wanted 51-year-old Cheyenne man with a history of drug convictions, identified as Leonard Raymond Riffel, was found passed out in his car at an Albertsons on Yellowstone Rd. at 1:03 p.m. on April 3 after police discovered two small bags with 6.19 grams of methamphetamine and nine blue pills in his pocket; he now faces felony drug possession charges with a $10,000 cash bond and a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 11 at 10:30 a.m. KGAB

- ➤ On Monday, the LCSD1 Board of Trustees honored students and teachers from Central, East, and Johnson schools for strong academic, athletic, and extracurricular performances. - ➤ University of Wyoming Extension named Shelbie Hanlon as the new 4-H youth development educator for Goshen County; she works part time on Fridays and will begin full time on Monday, June 2 (she earned an animal science degree from UW and volunteered in livestock judging). - ➤ On Monday, the Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees approved a new Spanish Language Arts curriculum for Dual Language Immersion programs at a cost not to exceed $325,838 and set the 2026–27 school calendar that front-loads staff development and moves parent-teacher conferences to the end of the quarter. The board also declared a vehicle a total loss after a crash and approved various purchases for multimedia equipment, sports mats, a purchase card program with First Interstate Bank, and a playground addition funded by the Cheyenne Community Recreation District — actions that were unanimously approved.
