  • The bronze statue that honors Cheyenne Frontier Days volunteers was moved to its new location on Hynds Boulevard beneath the Cheyenne Frontier Days Marquee along I-25. The sculpture—crafted by Herb Mignery and previously displayed near the Old West Museum—is a tribute to volunteers as plans for the new Morningstar Native American Indian Village move forward.  KFBC

  • Cheyenne police said 45 year old motorcyclist Clint Huff died on April 11 when his Harley Davidson tipped over after hitting a raised median curb near Carey Avenue and South Lions Park Drive + he was not wearing a helmet.  106.3 Cowboy Country

  • Cheyenne Police are seeking help finding 14-year-old Gianna Watson — who is 5-foot-3 and weighs 105 pounds with black hair and brown eyes — after she was last seen near Dell Range Boulevard and Crystal Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday, April 14, and they ask anyone with information to call 307-637-6525.  106.3 Cowboy Country

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cheyenne City Council took initial steps Monday to repeal the downtown graffiti abatement pilot program by reading an ordinance to end the DDA-led approach—staff now favor a city-wide ordinance and a separate agreement between the city and the DDA. The measure was referred to the Public Services Committee for review on April 21 and will return to the council on April 28 for further readings.  Cap City News
  • The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority and City of Cheyenne were honored with the Vernon Dienes Award from the American Planning Association for their Downtown Plan of Development adopted in January, which was recognized for its smart growth and collaborative efforts. The plan was developed by local officials, business owners, and community stakeholders over 18 months—demonstrating a focused strategy for economic and infrastructure improvements.  City of Cheyenne
  • Cheyenne City Council approved a cooperative agreement with WYDOT to spend $2.6M on road markings, asphalt mix, and baseball field lights—expected to save 20—25% compared to doing the work alone. The council also accepted bids for asphalt materials and additional projects while final details remain pending.  Cap City News
