  • Rep. Steve Harshman (a longtime teacher and coach with 40 years of experience) announced his run for Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction on Thursday. He pledged to support teachers, strengthen classrooms, and promote local input on education funding.  Cap City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A cold front is moving through Cheyenne today, bringing fire danger, high-speed winds, and snow flurries as the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag Warning for noon to 8 p.m. Temperatures will fall quickly while gusts may reach 40 mph, with widespread impacts expected tonight and Friday.  Cap City News
  • A dry winter may help or harm local big game, experts say, as conditions differ from a harsh winter three years ago when melting snow froze into a crust (which endangered mule deer). Researchers expect weather changes to influence animal survival in the coming months.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

  • I-25 will have lane reductions & a 45 mph speed limit starting April 24 due to a $42.9M reconstruction project that lasts until 2028 from Walsh Drive through Center Street. Crews will replace bridges and add weave lanes, so drivers should plan alternate routes.  KING FM
  • F.E. Warren Air Force Base cleared a suspicious package at Gate 1 around 11:13 a.m. Thursday, and law enforcement lifted evacuation and shelter orders with visitors advised to use Gate 5 as investigators continue the review (traffic control remains in effect).  Cap City News
