  • The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The inductees, including volunteers and the Justin Sportsmedicine Team, will be honored at a fall induction ceremony.  Cap City News

  • University of Wyoming Extension will host a free six-part wildfire preparedness webinar series via Zoom starting Thursday, April 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., covering topics like reducing fire hazards, community planning and impacts on health (webinars run through June 4).  Cap City News
  • Artemis II astronauts credited Wyoming-based NOLS training for teaching decision-making and teamwork during their 10-day lunar mission that ended on April 10. They said skills learned in Wyoming’s backcountry helped them manage stress and navigate challenges in space.  Cowboy State Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Opponents worry that a revised wind project plan for the Laramie Range could form a 'Wyoming wind wall' — critics say large-scale renewable growth risks changing the area's character — while developers plan to resubmit their permit application after last fall’s denial and a petition asks for a full review.  Cowboy State Daily
  • A local research institute announced that it has expanded its wildfire protection program to help homeowners lower fire risk during this wildfire season. The program will provide resources in Cheyenne and statewide later this season.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

  • The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities will flush the water system and test fire hydrants in several areas starting next week (maintenance work may cause temporary water pressure drops).  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

SPORTS NEWS

  • American Legion Baseball officials in Wyoming defended combining Double A and Single A teams into a single 23-team Senior Legion as the 2026 season begins this April—state tournaments will now award the top eight teams per division, a change designed to boost local competition and college recruiting.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Former world champion Clayton Biglow, a two-time Cheyenne Frontier Days champion (winning titles in 2019 and 2023), is making his season comeback after a two-year NFR break; he appeared on SportsZone Wednesday afternoon and has earned nearly $2 million in his career.  KFBC
