COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Organizers of the charity classic car show announced four local beneficiaries: Veterans Rock, Rooted in Cheyenne, Family Promise, & The ARC of Laramie County at Metropolitan Downtown Cheyenne on Wednesday. The show is set for Aug. 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frontier Park Exhibition Hall.  Cap City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Laramie County Community College will host two free concerts in May, one featuring award-winning film scores and the other showcasing jazz standards. The first concert begins at 3 p.m. May 3 at the college’s Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium, and the jazz showcase starts at 7 p.m. May 6.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cheyenne-based Simon Contractors won a $10.2M contract to reconstruct Dell Range, Whitney Road and U.S. Highway 30 in Laramie County from the Wyoming Transportation Commission's April meeting (pending City of Cheyenne approval). The project includes new traffic signals and stormwater systems.  Cap City News
  • Starting next week (April 20 through June), the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities will flush water mains and test fire hydrants, and residents may notice cloudy water that will clear with running cold water, with the option to contact the Operations and Maintenance department if issues persist.  Cap City News
  • The City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities is replacing manholes at the Dell Range and Grandview intersection to update aging sewer lines. Drivers should expect lane closures with the northwestbound lane closing Monday, Apr. 20 and the southeastbound lane closing Monday, Apr. 27 until May 4.  Cap City News
  • The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office invites residents to bring unused prescriptions to a drug take-back event on Saturday, Apr. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Laramie County Fire Authority Station 1 (5800 N. College Drive) and Laramie County Fire District 1, Station 1 (207 E. Allison Road).  Cap City News

  • Freshman golfer Kiley Reisner won the Bobcat Desert Classic at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear on Wednesday, finishing at 5 under par with a 69 in the final round. Her win marks the first time in program history a player has achieved two tournament titles in one year.  KGAB
