  • Supporters of a new monument planned for Lions Park aim to raise $2 million for a tribute to veterans and first responders—using donations, brick sales, and park bench naming—and expect to break ground very soon. Tracy Woods, President of the Compass of Honor Memorial Foundation, said the project will use Wyoming companies and hopes to complete fundraising by spring of 2026—ensuring local support for the design.  KING FM

CRIME NEWS

  • A 35-year-old Cheyenne woman, Viola Marie Kills Crow Indian, was arrested at 1:14 p.m. on April 27 at East Allison Road and South Avenue B-6 for allegedly stealing a vehicle—she is charged with felony theft with a $3,000 cash bond and her preliminary hearing is set for today at 10:30 a.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • A 27-year-old man from Haworth, Oklahoma was arrested on Friday, April 25 at 6:51 p.m. at the Super 8 by Wyndham after allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman at the Cheyenne hotel on 1900 W. Lincolnway—he faces aggravated assault and battery and domestic assault charges with his preliminary hearing set for today at 9 a.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today at the Storey Gym Boardroom (2811 House Ave in Cheyenne) the board will review a proposed update to its firearms policy that will start a 45-day public review period if approved (review runs May 6–June 20). The trustees will also address other business items including a new science curriculum and facility improvements at the Clark Allen AG Farm.  Cap City News
  • Laramie County Commissioners will meet today at 3:30 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse to review eight public hearings and resolutions on fireworks permits, land use applications, cybersecurity grants, catering permits, and other county projects & to hear a presentation on a study for a new Cheyenne Passenger Rail Station.  Cap City News
