- ➤ A Cheyenne man, Zachery Stief (born 1993), was arrested on April 24 and now faces felony charges for an April 17 incident near The American Legion where he allegedly attacked a victim with his skateboard during a robbery and police later found prescription pills and a substance that tested presumptive positive for cocaine in his pocket. - ➤ Laramie County commissioners approved fireworks sales permits on Tuesday after public hearings for three local businesses—Fireworks Outlet received a seasonal permit and Pyro City and Wholesale Fireworks got yearly permits. - ➤ A Cheyenne MPO study narrowed the options for a future passenger rail station from six locations to two sites—one near Happy Jack and Missile Drive and the other along the Reed Avenue corridor—after presenting the findings to the Laramie County Commissioners. The Happy Jack option is estimated at $30.9 million with moderate risk and job boosts while the Reed Avenue option could cost between $24.1 million and $28.2 million with higher risk; Cheyenne will proceed further if a public vote on Front Range Passenger Rail funding in November is successful. - ➤ Laramie County commissioners approved the site plan for White Antelope Barn on a 7.13-acre lot at Mountain Shadow on Jan. 7; the project will build a barn-like structure, storage building, three cabins and a parking lot with added conditions including a fence, traffic study and detailed natural screening + residents expressed worries about traffic, noise and environmental impacts during the public hearing.
