  • A Sportsman's Warehouse office manager in Cheyenne is facing felony theft charges after reportedly stealing over $6,700 in cash and merchandise during her shifts since she started in September 2024 — a police report noted 11 cash shortages linked to her work.  Cap City News
  • Cheyenne police on May 28 are asking the public for help identifying four people believed to have intentionally set a fire at an abandoned home on Ridge Road—surveillance video shows they entered at 12:51 a.m. and left at 1:01 a.m.—with flames seen by 1:12 a.m.  Cap City News
  • Cheyenne authorities arrested 20-year-old Serena Like on burglary and drug charges after she reportedly entered a residence on May 22 through an unlocked door, used the washing machine, and when asked to leave went to the basement before later being seen with a bag containing personal items (a search found suspected meth, fentanyl, and paraphernalia) leading to her arrest on May 23.  Cap City News

  • Today, Cheyenne East High School hosted an emotional graduation ceremony where students completed thirteen years of education and began their next steps toward adulthood. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Cheyenne’s Rob Roy Reservoir (a key water source) is expected to reach capacity on June 2nd and spill excess water into Douglas Creek as increased snowmelt fills the reservoir, creating higher-than-normal flows. The city advises residents and visitors to exercise caution with rapidly changing water levels (this spill is managed as one of six reservoirs by the city board).  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Victor Miller, known for his 2024 run as VIC, says his 19-year-old nephew Landon Miller will run for Cheyenne City Council in Ward I in 2026 — with plans to give his ballot spot to an artificial intelligence candidate. Local officials note that an AI cannot register to vote — and current law makes the plan likely illegal.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Paving will begin Monday, June 2 at Fleet Maintenance (2731 Old Happy Jack Road) and will change access while keeping at least one opening and fuel pumps in operation for about two months. Work will also start soon at the Street & Alley facility (110 Cleveland Place) and visitors must obey traffic control devices for approximately three months.  City of Cheyenne
