COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The High Plains Arboretum will hold its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, June 7 — local residents can buy trees, shrubs and fruits designed for Cheyenne’s climate with a members-only sale from 10 a.m. to noon and a public sale from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The event at 8601 Hildreth Road will benefit the Arboretum.  City of Cheyenne

CRIME NEWS

  • A 31-year-old Cheyenne man was arrested after allegedly stabbing an unarmed victim multiple times following a high-speed crash on Pattinson Avenue on June 1, and he is now held at Laramie County Detention Center with his court appearance scheduled for tomorrow at 9:45 a.m.—police say the investigation continues.  KGAB

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Today, Laramie County’s average gas price dropped 2 cents to $2.92—making it the second cheapest statewide with Walmart and Sam’s Club offering gas at $2.79 and $2.82 respectively—while the national average fell to $3.09.  Cap City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • LCSD1 trustees will review a capacity study for East High School today at 5 p.m. in the Storey Gym Boardroom at 2811 House Ave, with a follow-up meeting at 6 p.m.—the study recommends adding space by reconfiguring parts of the current building to address overcrowding.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The proposed Cheyenne City budget now adds $100,000 for police overtime to target speeding and noisy vehicles—this extra funding was approved unanimously and will be voted on again Monday, June 9 before taking effect on July 1. The move is aimed at enhancing traffic law enforcement while meeting council goals.  KING FM
