- ➤ A 36-year-old Cheyenne woman on the Laramie County Sheriff's Most Wanted list since May 12 was captured 11 days later and bonded out on June 2 — her preliminary hearing is set for June 9 at 10 a.m. KGAB

- ➤ Yesterday, Cheyenne hosted the Hell on Wheels Rodeo at the Laramie County Fairgrounds with bull riding, bronc riding and a chuck wagon dinner. Today, Frontier Mall presents the Cirque Italia Water Circus with shows at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. while later tonight The World Famous MINIKISS performs at 8 p.m. Cap City News

- ➤ Wyoming lawmakers in Gillette considered a constitutional amendment to end all property taxes—an idea sparked by the confusion over multiple tax exemptions that brought in $2 billion in revenue in 2024—and debated a switch to a sales tax to fund local services. The committee modified two exemptions and will reconvene on Aug. 21 in Casper—where further plans will be discussed. Cap City News
- ➤ Wyoming lawmakers in Jackson paused their first agenda item at the kickoff of the interim Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee meeting to debate the pros and cons of taking over federal lands—hoping to clarify resource management options. Wyoming Tribune Eagle

- ➤ On June 5th, 2025, the State Board of Land Commissioners in Cheyenne voted not to renew six gravel mining leases for Prism Logistics near Casper Mountain—citing permit and licensing issues as well as environmental and community concerns raised during public meetings. - ➤ The City of Cheyenne Aquatics Division announced seasonal dates for 2025, with Johnson Pool open today—offering lap swim from 10 a.m. to noon and recreational swim from noon to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 5 p.m. on weekends—and the Depot Splash Pad available weather permitting from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., while the Aquatic Center spray park undergoes repairs with a planned opening in the coming weeks. - ➤ Laramie County commissioners approved agreements to boost opioid recovery services and support pregnant women and new mothers, including a deal with Recover Wyoming (worth $89,085.26 and effective from June 3 to May 31, 2028) and a settlement with Stride Learning Center for $314,980 to help families. They also signed contracts for building maintenance at 2020 Carey Ave and a deal with the Cheyenne Housing Authority to support senior services at Foxcrest (with $118,506.60 to be transferred by July 1).
