  • First Christian Church in Cheyenne is hosting a community block party on June 26 at 5:30 p.m. on the 200 block of West 27th Street to raise funds for housing homeless teenage mothers; the event offers dinner with water and soda, live guitar, bagpipe music, karaoke and family games — guests may bring their own chairs — donations will help cover event costs.  Cap City News

CRIME NEWS

  • A 33-year-old Cheyenne man, Joshua Edwin Buckles, was arrested on Wednesday, June 4 at East Lincolnway and Cleveland Avenue after a sheriff’s deputy reportedly found drugs on him—he was booked on charges including interference with a peace officer, possession of marijuana, and felony possession of methamphetamine and later received a four-day jail sentence after a Municipal Court appearance.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • A 31-year-old Cheyenne man, identified as Sterling A. Null, was bound over to Laramie County District Court after he allegedly stabbed his uncle, Michael Owens, five times on the 2400 block of Pattinson Avenue at 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, June 1—leaving his victim with life-threatening injuries and setting his bond at $100,000 cash.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Joshua Edwin Buckles, a 33-year-old Cheyenne man, was arrested on June 4 at East Lincolnway and Cleveland Avenue after a deputy reportedly found him with drugs—he was booked on charges of interfering with a peace officer, marijuana possession, and felony methamphetamine possession before a later Municipal Court appearance led to a four-day jail sentence and a warrant for failure to appear.  KGAB

CULTURE NEWS

  • Juliette Angelo, a former child star and actress who turned to music for healing, will perform her tribute show A Night of Patsy Cline on Sunday, June 15 at The Louise Event Venue in Cheyenne. The show will feature opening act Mike Morris — a Cheyenne native — and marks her personal comeback as she shares her journey of recovery and self-expression.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation accepted state Rep. John Winter's apology—he used a derogatory term for the Heart Mountain incarceration site during a legislative committee hearing in Powell Tuesday. The foundation thanked committee members and state lawmakers for supporting its ongoing efforts to educate the public on the site's history.  Cap City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The House settlement was approved last Friday and now lets colleges share money with athletes, changing the way college sports work. Peter Prigge, the University of Wyoming Associate AD for Compliance, talked on SportsZone about the settlement's impact — he said it could reshape Wyoming athletics.  KFBC
  • Pine Bluffs head coach Will Gray spoke on SportsZone about the 52nd annual Shrine Bowl football game, which will be played Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cheney Alumni Field in Casper—six graduating seniors from Cheyenne, three from Pine Bluffs and two from Burns will compete on the South team—emphasizing his lineup for the event.  KFBC
