GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At the first meeting of the Select Committee on Gaming, lawmakers reported that current state law gives cities too little power and funding from gaming revenue for gambling addiction programs—some counties even turned down small payouts. LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Cheyenne celebrity chef Petrina Peart returned to the NBC competition Yes, Chef! after her first-round elimination at a birthday watch party at Brownie's Tasting Bar—preparing multi-course dishes with her own twists—and later won a redemption round by defeating chef Christopher Morales to rejoin the contest for a $250,000 prize.  Cowboy State Daily
  • The Medicine Bow Rail Trail spans 21 miles through Medicine Bow National Forest and offers bikers, runners and horseback riders a quiet route among aspen and spruce (with Lake Owen as one of its trailheads).
