  • A Cheyenne man, Aric Michael Gibbons, was arrested at Walmart on June 19 at 9:56 p.m. for burglary when police reported he left the store with a stolen trailer hitch + drug paraphernalia in his backpack and he was booked at the Laramie County Detention Center.  KGAB
  • A Cheyenne man was arrested at Walmart on June 19 at 9:56 p.m. after leaving the store with a stolen trailer hitch and drug paraphernalia — Aric Michael Gibbons faces felony burglary and drug possession charges.  KING FM
  • Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak said a homicide suspect from Thornton, Colorado was caught early Friday when a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper’s grappler — a tool that slows a car — led deputies to break the tinted windows and arrest the suspect without injury; he is now held on a window tint violation charge as the homicide investigation continues.  Cap City News
  • A Wyoming trooper rolled his vehicle Friday morning near Cheyenne while using his grapple to slow a fleeing homicide suspect from Thornton, Colorado—he was uninjured and law enforcement later burst the truck’s darkened windows before arresting the suspect on a window tint violation.  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On June 5, a meeting of the State Board of Land Commissioners ended with Gov. Mark Gordon and Secretary of State Chuck Gray arguing over a gravel mine and wind projects on a prized state property at the base of Casper Mountain—months of protests, lawsuits, and social media attacks had worsened the dispute. The clash slowed the board’s work and may make it harder for officials to reach agreements in future meetings.  Cap City News
