- ➤ Wyoming man Kevin Hefley, a 52-year-old Pine Bluffs resident, was shot and killed on the 1200 block of County Road 157 in Laramie County while deputies secured the scene and began an active investigation—residents have been advised to avoid the area. Cap City News
- ➤ Cheyenne Police arrested a Laramie County man on felony drug charges on June 19 after a traffic stop of a Toyota Scion revealed an ounce of cocaine hidden on his person—dismantling a suspected cocaine trafficking operation that involved trips to Denver with an alleged accomplice. Cap City News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming Department of Transportation announced that a slow moving superload will leave the Laramie railyard on June 30 and reach the Interstate 80 on-ramp at Snowy Range by 10:30 a.m.—it will then depart a truck parking lot at Arlington on July 1 and continue on Wyoming Highway 13 to US Highway 30/287, ending in Medicine Bow with travel delays expected. The load will return to the railyard during the second week of July and two additional transformer moves are planned for later this summer. Cap City News
- ➤ On June 26, hundreds of protesters gathered at the Wyoming State Capitol to voice their opposition to a proposal to sell millions of acres of public lands. State Representative Karlee Provenza called elected officials before hanging up as the crowd repeatedly declared that the land was not for sale. Cap City News
