  • An alleged Cheyenne cocaine dealer, 31-year-old Jay Jacob William Buswell, was arrested on July 1 at Deming Drive and West 9th Street on two felony warrants and a misdemeanor drug possession charge — he now is held on an $11,000 cash bond with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 11.  KING FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Feds are speeding up the review process for the Natrium nuclear power plant as developer TerraPower said Wyoming may see its first commercial nuclear power plant a few months sooner than anticipated—sometime in 2030.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Laramie County commissioners have delayed the vote on updated land use regulations, a revised zone map and fee schedule until July 15 after public hearings raised concerns from local residents. Officials will review feedback on issues ranging from property rights to local project impacts—ensuring the proposals meet community needs.  Cap City News
  • Laramie County commissioners approved nearly $500,000 from opioid settlement funds to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center to expand its Alternatives to Opioids program on Feb. 18—this three-year agreement runs through May 31 while the board also modified contracts for sewer work, legal services, and road maintenance.  Cap City News
  • The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities announced that water main work in the Eastridge neighborhood will start the week of July 7 and is expected to finish in early September depending on weather and material supply. The project will affect Newton Drive/Foxcroft Road, Essex Road, and Carbon Avenue—residents are asked to avoid parking in the work zones between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays and occasionally on Saturdays.  Cap City News
