Good morning, Cheyenne. Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 7th of July.

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Wyoming Aviation Heritage League is working to save the 1960s airport terminal at Cheyenne Regional Airport by cleaning up hazards and repairing the roof this summer. They plan to add a restaurant, art space and museum and will host a festival with an air show and vintage planes on Sept. 13-14 (to boost public support) while the full project is expected to take five to 10 years (if grants and funds remain available).  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Board of Public Utilities started a water main replacement project in the Eastridge Neighborhood that affects Newton Drive — Foxcroft Road, Essex Road, and Carbon Avenue, with construction expected to finish by early September; residents are advised not to park in the work zone from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and some water shut-offs may occur unexpectedly.  KFBC
  • Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak—who values Cheyenne's Western heritage—reinstated the mounted patrol after deputies trained with their own horses in June; the patrol will support parades and assist with service calls during upcoming events like Cheyenne Frontier Days.  Cowboy State Daily
