  • Trial jury selection begins Monday in Cheyenne for the double first-degree murder trial of Douglas Mark Smith, who reported the July 20 killing of 76-year-old George Manley and 67-year-old Dwight Brockman at The Coin Shop; if convicted, he faces life in prison.  Cowboy State Daily
  • A man (48 years old) with a history of domestic violence was arrested on July 5 in rural Laramie County after he hit two women with a bullwhip and attacked a deputy during a welfare check, and he now faces felony injury to a deputy and domestic battery charges.  Cap City News
  • A 44-year-old Cheyenne man, Ezekiel Hernandez, pleaded guilty on Thursday for making a bomb threat to delay a trial and accepted a plea deal to testify against Melinda Hurt, a Fort Collins woman accused of theft using his roommate’s ID and bank information — his sentence will be suspended while charges of witness intimidation and terroristic threats are dropped.  Cowboy State Daily
