The Knox family, who has camped at Pine Island Group Campground for over 30 years, says they enjoyed the playful stunt and may try an upgraded version in future trips — highlighting a fun local tradition. - ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced changes to the 2025 elk hunting season on the National Elk Refuge, which will run from Nov. 1 to Dec. 19 and now offers a new Type 6 license for cow or calf elk along with revised permission slip rules to better distribute the harvest. Hunters must apply during an initial draw from Aug. 1 to Sept. 18 and via weekly alternate draws from Oct. 20 to Nov. 27 — any harvested elk will be required to undergo chronic wasting disease sampling.
