  • Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne is asking residents to sponsor an animal to supply homegrown meat for meal deliveries — the program has raised its monthly meal servings from 9,000 to 14,000 — and spends $60,000 a month to meet growing needs.  Cap City News

CRIME NEWS

  • A Cheyenne couple, Angela N. Mittlestadt and Darrick Mittlestadt, posted a $15,000 bond on Monday after investigators found their adopted son was severely malnourished and now face charges of aggravated child abuse and conspiracy to commit the same (potentially totaling up to 50 years in prison) with a preliminary hearing set to decide if there is enough evidence.  Cap City News
  • During Cheyenne Frontier Days, the multi-agency DUI Task Force made 2120 traffic stops and 51 DUI arrests to keep roads safe—Laramie County Sheriff’s Office said the team worked with partners from Albany, Laramie, Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne and the Wyoming Highway Patrol, nearly matching last year’s figures.  Cap City News

  • An elementary school teacher in Cheyenne was arrested Monday on suspicion of 16 sex crimes after an internal investigation found he repeatedly touched female students inappropriately during class—police confirmed forensic interviews at Safe Harbor were arranged for the victims.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Cheyenne Frontier Days ended recently, and the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office reported that Operation Deuces Wild—its multi-agency DUI task force—arrested 51 people for driving under the influence.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
