  • The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to find missing juvenile Miguel Wright — he was last seen walking east from the 1100 block of Carpenter Place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • A 43-year-old Cheyenne man was found not guilty after a five-day trial in which jurors cleared him of manslaughter for the Dec 12 fatal stabbing of his estranged wife’s boyfriend amid a heated home dispute over a plumbing project and drug use (he claimed he acted in self-defense) (all manslaughter charges were rejected).  Cowboy State Daily

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cheyenne drivers have seen their gas prices drop even as the national average reached $3.11 per gallon; AAA reported Wyoming’s state price at $3.09. Local retailers in Laramie County sold fuel as low as $2.73 today—marking a contrast with other areas where lower prices persisted for 18 weeks.  Cap City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees will hold a 5 p.m. work session at the Storey Gym Boardroom and on Zoom to discuss revised cellphone rules—students and staff may face device confiscation and disciplinary actions—and they will reconvene at 6 p.m. to review new behavior matrices, a fee proposal for the Alta Vista Elementary parking lot, and a potential public review of updated seclusion and restraint policies.  Cap City News

  • After the hailstorm on Aug 1, Cheyenne property owners are urged to hire only city-licensed contractors and verify that proper building permits are obtained for any work needed; the city's system proves that contractors follow local building codes.  City of Cheyenne
  • Crews with WYDOT and S&L Industrial will apply epoxy striping in intermittent locations across Laramie, Albany, and Carbon counties this week if weather permits.
