CRIME NEWS

  • 38-year-old Kasey Adam Worley, a habitual Cheyenne criminal, faces two life sentences for allegedly strangling a household member and threatening them with a drawn weapon—he was arrested at 4 p.m. on Aug. 7, tased when uncooperative, and booked into Laramie County Detention Center.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Cheyenne police arrested Anthony Michael Hernandez on July 28 after a multi-month investigation linked him to a Mexico-based cartel—he is charged with four counts of conspiracy and four counts of drug sales.  Cap City News
  • A habitual Cheyenne criminal, Kasey Adam Worley, was arrested at 4 p.m. on Aug. 7 for allegedly strangling a household member and threatening them with a drawn weapon and now faces two life sentences because of past crimes—his bond is set at $100,000 cash and a hearing is scheduled on Aug. 21 at 3:30 p.m.  KING FM

  • Today, the national average gas price fell to $3.08 and Wyoming's average dropped to $3.07 with Laramie County at $2.73 while a Cheyenne Loaf 'N Jug station reported the lowest price at $2.67. GasBuddy and AAA data show lower oil prices led to this change & several states are seeing similar trends.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cheyenne City Council met on June 23 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers to consider an ordinance to annex 38 properties—bringing 18.62 acres into the city limits—along with a zoning change for a Microsoft-owned parcel and a new police employment agreement. The council also reviewed several consent agenda items and first-read ordinances covering future projects and agreements for public works.  Cap City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Lieutenant Evan Storch of the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office said officers are now being trained to spot kratom-impaired driving after DUI cases in other states—low doses mimic stimulants while high doses slow reaction times, endangering drivers. Lawmakers are also discussing a review of Wyoming’s controlled substances list to close gaps with federal standards amid concerns over manipulated kratom products.  Cowboy State Daily
