- ➤ A 45-year-old Cheyenne man on probation for a 2023 burglary was arrested at 12:09 a.m. on Aug 17 for allegedly stealing items from a vehicle and appeared before Judge Antoinette Williams on Aug 19, with a preliminary hearing set for Aug 25 at 10 a.m.—he faces charges of burglary and criminal trespass. - ➤ Cheyenne police said Senior Airman Joshua Aragon, 23, was fatally shot through a bedroom wall during a Saturday morning incident on Walterscheid Boulevard, and Airman 1st Class Jadan Orr—also stationed at F.E. Warren—was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter after discharging an AK-47-style pistol. Cowboy State Daily

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming’s Economic Health Index increased to 107.2 in June, marking its first year-over-year rise in six months. The state added 4,000 nonfarm payroll jobs & saw a slight rise in the unemployment rate from 3.2% to 3.3%, while mining sales tax collections dropped by 6.9% and lodging sales grew by 0.9% compared to last June. - ➤ Cheyenne is sunny today with a high of 88, but a low-pressure system from Canada will bring cooler temperatures and chances of rain and thunderstorms starting Friday — a shift that will produce fall-like weather into early next week. Cap City News

- ➤ Governor Mark Gordon ordered that the Wyoming State Flag will be flown at half staff on Aug. 23—from sunrise to sunset—at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Natrona County to honor Gail Zimmerman. Zimmerman served Natrona County in the State House and Senate and passed away on July 30. Cap City News

- ➤ Registration is open for fall/winter programs at the Cheyenne Ice and Event Center, including Learn to Play Hockey for kids 4-15, Learn to Skate for kids 3-16 and a non-checking Adult Hockey League.
