CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Cheyenne police arrested 38-year-old Kasey Worley on Aug. 7 after he reportedly choked a woman with a makeshift rope and threatened her with a knife during an argument over suspected infidelity at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Cap City News
- ➤ A 30-year-old Cheyenne man, Sergio Dijon Taylor Sr., who was on the Laramie County Sheriff's Most Wanted list since May 13, was arrested at Interstate 180 and East 5th Street on Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m. for domestic battery and probation violation—he is set to appear in court on Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. KGAB
- ➤ A 47-year-old woman charged with shoplifting was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday and died at 11:15 p.m. after being found unresponsive during routine checks—officials said the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation will investigate her death. - ➤ At 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night, Patricia Kay Michaelis, 47, was brought to the Laramie County Detention Center on shoplifting charges and was later found unresponsive in her cell—Cheyenne Fire and Rescue pronounced her dead at 11:15 p.m. as staff tried resuscitation, prompting an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. - ➤ A large mural of wild horses on the Cheyenne water tank is nearly finished and draws praise from locals on Storey Boulevard. Artist Jordan Dean and his team from CHP Paint Co will resume work on final details once the forecast improves—if rain delays their progress, he may return for additional touch-ups. - ➤ Country music singer Toby Keith was announced as an inductee to the 2025 Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame in Cheyenne — he performed at the event eight times since 1997 — and his honor will be celebrated at a ceremony on Sept. 5. Cap City News

- ➤ At its June 23 meeting, Cheyenne City Council approved funding resolutions and bids including a $95,564 contract for trash containers and a $662,000 bid for lighting at Dutcher Baseball East Fields while applying for federal and state funds to buy a new fire truck and support elder transportation. City boards received new appointments—committee meetings and public hearings on annexation and a liquor license are set for early September. Cap City News

- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department's report indicates that elk, bighorn sheep, and moose will be plentiful for hunters this fall in southeastern Wyoming while mule deer, pronghorn, and game birds will struggle due to chronic wasting disease and drought effects – hunters are advised to explore less crowded areas for better success.
