During World War II, Wyoming oil refineries in Cheyenne and Sinclair made 100-octane fuel that powered U.S. planes while local leaders secured government approvals to boost production—this work helped win the war.

Today, Cheyenne’s Frontier Refinery, now run by Sinclair, stands as a lasting part of the state’s history and local economy.

Navajo Transitional Energy Co. is pushing ahead with coal projects in Wyoming and Montana after federal approvals may unlock over 440 million tons of coal+ a public hearing for the West Antelope III project will be held Sept 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Wright Town Hall to review its details.
