CRIME NEWS

  • A 50-year-old Cheyenne business owner was charged with felony burglary after she was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at her home on West Jefferson Road when a warrant had been issued for an alleged burglary on or about Saturday, Aug. 16—her bond was set at $2,000 cash and she will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 9 at 3:45 p.m.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • A 32-year-old Cheyenne man, Shawn Kyle Monson, was arrested on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. at an apartment on the 1400 block of Hot Springs Avenue for allegedly burglarizing a vehicle and destroying property; his extensive record led to a $3,000 cash bond recommendation—his next court hearing is today at 3:45 p.m.  KING FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Cheyenne residents can enjoy a free concert by Celtic harp duo Gadbaw & Krimmel at the Laramie County Library on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. The performance will feature Irish folk songs and original tunes that bring a taste of Celtic tradition to our community.  Cap City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wyoming will lose over an hour of daylight this September as sunrise and sunset times shift across the state—Cheyenne’s sunrise moves from 6:26 a.m. to 6:55 a.m. and its sunset from 7:31 p.m. to 6:42 p.m.—while shorter days signal the early approach of fall.  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Carry The Load is partnering with the Department of Veterans Affairs—National Cemetery Administration to host a Patriot Day Service at Cheyenne National Cemetery on September 11. Volunteers will help clean headstones from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to honor those lost on Sept. 11 and support remembrance.  Cap City News
