- ➤ Three Cheyenne residents were charged with felonies after deputies connected a stolen car to a mobile home at Big Country Mobile Home Park—drugs including 11 grams of methamphetamine and 40 fentanyl pills were seized, bonds were set, and preliminary hearings are scheduled for Sept 19. 106.3 Cowboy Country
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sept 8, the Cheyenne City Council reviewed new liquor license requests for Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse—with its owners paying over $11,000—and set a public hearing for a retail license transfer for Applebee’s, while another request was sent to the Finance Committee. The council also approved a grant application for a new wildland fire truck, proposed changes to the Capital Improvement Plan update schedule, updated the budget for unexpected expenses, and referred several contracts and agreements for further review. - ➤ Cheyenne City Council finalized votes on Monday that annexed 18.62 acres northeast of Frontier Mall Drive and Rue Terre Avenue for future commercial development including a new grocery store — it also reclassified 10.94 acres for medium density residential growth and began annexing 20.19 acres in eastern Cheyenne to extend city services. - ➤ Cheyenne City Council unanimously passed a new vehicle noise ordinance at its Monday meeting that bans loud mufflers and cut-outs — the law sets fines up to $500 and possible jail time for repeat offenders and will move to its final reading on Sept. 22. Cap City News
