COMMUNITY NEWS

  • After conservative faith leader Charlie Kirk was killed on Sept. 10th, Wyoming churches saw higher attendance and more heartfelt worship as believers looked for a closer connection to their faith. Today, about 100 people gathered at the Wyoming Capitol in Cheyenne to honor Kirk and pray for violence victims—local pastors noted a revival that brought new visitors and online interest.  Cowboy State Daily

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Ag columnist Dennis Sun stressed the importance of promoting Wyoming’s agriculture and way of life by backing fair attendance and classroom programs, and he shared study data showing a $4.9 billion economic impact from fairs in the Rocky Mountain Region—highlighting how such events support local jobs and growth.   • The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities reminds residents that water and sewer fees will increase on Oct. 1 — the fee changes were approved to support system maintenance.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Cheyenne City Council discussed annexing 17 acres for a Winco Grocery near Sam’s Club and a revised vehicle noise ordinance that gives officers discretion on motorcycle noise tickets. They also approved a $662,000 bid for new lights at Dutcher Baseball Complex—reviewed proposals for Greenway extension, Johnson Pool replacement, and a $3.7 million plan to upgrade police digital software—and set a timeline for finalizing 6th Penny tax projects.  City of Cheyenne
  • On Tuesday, Laramie County commissioners approved several land use applications including an amendment that exempts certain accessory structures from fire barrier insulation requirements and permits for CJH Ranches and Bailey Estates, along with a site plan to expand the AB Camping facility—staff set conditions for road standards and final review. The board confirmed that test results and agency comments met safety and engineering standards before granting approval.  Cap City News
  • The Laramie County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a retail liquor license for White Antelope Barn—an events venue involved in a civil lawsuit—after a public hearing where residents raised safety concerns. Owner Heidi Pulcipher said the venue offers a free trolley service for up to 28 guests to help ensure safe transportation home.  Cap City News
  • Laramie County commissioners approved over two dozen agreements, funding applications, and administrative actions on Tuesday, transferring a Cummins generator to Burns and signing contracts with the University of Wyoming Extension Service — they also set funding deals for Cheyenne LEADS, United Way, and several local organizations.   • Laramie County commissioners approved the transfer of a Wheatland property to Memorial Hospital of Laramie County on Tuesday to allow the hospital to sell land—its deed held since the early 1980s. They also noted that the Senior Center had seen an 800% increase in wellness equipment usage and will offer new fitness, yoga, and art classes—showing its growing impact on local seniors.  Cap City News

  • Former Wyoming standout Josh Allen led the Bills to a win over the Dolphins on Thursday—he reached 300 touchdowns faster than any other NFL quarterback in history. He achieved the milestone in 127 games, breaking the previous record.  Cap City News
  • The Wyoming Cowboys head south to play Colorado today at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN — it is the first meeting between the teams since 2009 and the Cowboys will aim for their third straight road win.  KGAB
  • Former Wyoming wide receiver Jovon Bouknight, who once dreamed of playing for Colorado, now leads his Cowboys as they face the Buffaloes in Boulder today (kickoff is at 8:15 p.m.).
