ECONOMY NEWS

  • Today, Wyoming gas prices averaged $3.08 per gallon, rising 1.9 cents from last week with the lowest at $2.59 and the highest at $3.99. Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan said the national average may drop below $3 per gallon this autumn—linked to the switch to cheaper winter blends.  KING FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees in Cheyenne will vote on an almost $1.5 million purchase of eight new school buses during a work session at 5 p.m. followed by a meeting at 6 p.m.—the buses will be funded by the district's transportation budget with the state reimbursing over five years.  Cap City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department honored four ranching families for their wildlife conservation efforts as the 2025 Landowners of the Year during a reception held Sept. 9 in Lander—showing long-term commitment to habitat improvement and research support.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cheyenne Compost Facility will end its seasonal Sunday hours after Sept.30, with its last Sunday drop-off occurring on Sept.28. It will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and finish residential yard waste collection during the week of Nov.17-20 — residents may contact the Sanitation Division for more details.  City of Cheyenne
  • Cheyenne City Council approved a new ordinance that requires all vehicles to carry a muffler and fines for violations—council members will review enforcement data on October 31 to see how well the rule works. The measure aims to reduce excessive vehicle noise while protecting the community.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Wyoming legislators met with Tesla on Monday to discuss a self-driving vehicle pilot program for the state fleet and plans for new laws on autonomous vehicles & they agreed to continue discussions as they weigh improvements in efficiency against concerns over liability and cost.  Cowboy State Daily
