CRIME NEWS

  • An active-duty airman of the 90th Missile Wing was found dead at F.E. Warren Air Force Base on Wednesday morning, and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations is investigating the case—officials withheld his name until next-of-kin could be notified.  Cap City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents in Cheyenne have reported strange lights in the sky near F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and experts such as attorney Richard Beckwith and former fighter pilot Maj. Ryan Bodenheimer have shared close-call sightings of UFOs.  KGAB
  • Empire was an all-Black town in Wyoming founded in 1908 by farming families near the Nebraska border; it had its own school, post office, and churches but dissolved in the 1920s due to drought, economic hardship, and racial hostility (a legal fight to keep a black teacher marked one bitter challenge). The abandoned settlement now stands as a quiet reminder of a unique chapter in local history.  KGAB

  • At a meeting in Cheyenne on Wednesday, state Treasurer Curt Meier said he is tired of Secretary of State Chuck Gray derailing committee work—Gray has used the meeting to revisit old disagreements with Gov.   • Wyoming will host the San Jose State Spartans in a Saturday football game starting at 5 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium — the Cowboys plan to rely on quarterback Walker Eget and receiver Danny Scudero to test San Jose State’s strong offense.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel said the team will start running back Sam Scott in Saturday's game against San Jose State—hoping his strength and steady play will boost early offense.
