HEALTH NEWS

  • Lawmakers on the Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Committee recently debated bills to ease Wyoming’s maternal health care shortage after Platte County Hospital paused labor and delivery services, marking the fifth birth facility to close in the state. The committee advanced a bill to cover freestanding birth centers under Medicaid— a move some say is only a temporary fix— while a separate measure protecting pregnancy centers passed with divided support.  Cap City News

  • Two interceptions led to a 24-21 loss for the Wyoming Cowboys against the Air Force Falcons on Sept. 13 — the Falcons secured their first conference win with a crucial field goal after Wyoming’s drives stalled.
