COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Cheyenne families are invited to trick-or-treat at the Governor’s Residence — located at 5001 Central Avenue — from 5 to 7 p.m. this Halloween; the event also features a — Bring Something, Leave Something — table where visitors can share or take nonperishable food items.  Cap City News
  • Rooted in Cheyenne was named the 2025 Outstanding Wyoming Urban and Community Forestry Program after planting over 1,900 street trees since 2017. The award, presented by the Wyoming State Forestry Division and the Wyoming Tree Academy in late September, recognized the volunteer group's sustained excellence and strong local partnerships—boosting the city's urban forest.  Cap City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Laramie County Community College will host a free Veterans Day concert on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Cheyenne campus—featuring the Cheyenne Brass Band and LCCC Wind Ensemble performing patriotic music that honors military service members and marks the 80th anniversary of World War II's end.  Cap City News
  • The Wyoming State Museum will host an Artist in Residence Show and Sale featuring works by Georgia and Dave Rowswell that they created during a 10-day road trip through four state parks—this exhibit will be on view in the museum lobby until Dec. 19 and will include a free reception on Nov. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 2301 Central Ave.  Cap City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, Cheyenne City Council advanced new regulations for RV parks and campgrounds after a failed committee vote — the proposal passed its second reading with a 7–2 vote and is set for final reading at the next council meeting. The council also finalized zoning updates that remove a weed height nuisance rule and adjust zone assignments to keep land use consistent.  Cap City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wyoming Cowboys will play San Diego State this Saturday at SnapDragon Stadium with kickoff at 5:00 p.m., and the Aztecs lead the series 20-19 with wins in five of the last six meetings. Both teams show strong defense — the Cowboys kept opponents’ scores low in past games and the Aztecs held three rivals scoreless this fall — setting up a close game.  KGAB
  • San Diego State, ranked ninth nationally in defense and coming off a shutout win, will face the Cowboys when the game kicks off Saturday at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports Network—junior Trey White and quarterback Jayden Denegal are expected to make key plays in what promises to be a competitive matchup.  106.3 Cowboy Country
  • Buffalo Bills beat Carolina forty to nine as former University of Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen threw twelve of nineteen passes for 163 yards and ran twice for touchdowns. The report also listed stats for Wyoming alumni on teams such as the Eagles, Bengals, Broncos, and Saints (ahead of week nine contests).  Cap City News
