GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Low-income households in Wyoming are waiting for heating help since the state Low Income Energy Assistance Program stopped approving new applications on Oct. 15 due to federal funding running out, leaving 3,529 pending applications including 222 from families in crisis. Local groups say the pause will worsen hardships as temperatures plunge — and help will resume only when Congress passes a new spending bill. Cap City News

- ➤ University of Wyoming defensive tackle Ben Florentine was named a Burlsworth Trophy nominee for 2025 from among 79 FBS players who began their careers as walk-ons—he has played 34 games and leads his team with five sacks and six tackles for loss this season. A native of Anaheim, Florentine joined the Cowboys in 2021 and continues to impress with his performance. KGAB
