- ➤ Cheyenne Great Clips will offer free haircuts and haircut cards on Tuesday, Nov. 11 to veterans and active military service members at its local salons—non-military customers receiving a haircut will get a card redeemable until Dec. 5, marking the 13th year of the Thank a Veteran event. - ➤ New leadership at The Welcome Mat day shelter in Cheyenne has offered a second chance to unhoused people and those who previously received citations—marking a change in policy from earlier restrictions. Wyoming Tribune Eagle

- ➤ gBETA is a free startup accelerator in Wyoming that helps high-growth companies learn how to secure venture capital — it is sponsored by Microsoft and managed by Baylie Evans from gener8tor. - ➤ The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra will debut the new cello concerto 'Pasturelands' at its concert 'Land That I Love' on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Cheyenne Civic Center—composer Jeff Lippencott created the piece to capture Wyoming landscapes as Artist-in-Residence cellist Zuill Bailey performs, and a free Lunch and Learn is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at the Laramie County Public Library. - ➤ LCCC Theatre is presenting Sophocles’ Antigone on the Cheyenne campus this month with cable news projections—updating the ancient tragedy to show modern debates about loyalty and law. Lee Noyes of Green River stars in the Nov. 13-15 shows while Afton Powell of Riverton leads on the Nov. 20-22 performances; each show begins at 7:30 p.m. with general admission at $10 and free entry for students. - ➤ On Sunday, November 16, Laramie County Community College will host its free Vocal Showcase at 3 p.m. at the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium on the Cheyenne campus, where the Collegiate Chorale, Cantorei, and Jazz Ensemble will perform a mix of classical, contemporary, and jazz pieces. Guest artists and a collaborative set led by voice instructor Julie Koenig will add highlights—such as a rendition of 'I Could Write a Book'—to the event. Cap City News

- ➤ Bailey Wasson, an eighth grader at Carey Junior High, was chosen as LCSD1 Student of the Week for the week of Nov. 10—she is recognized for her quiet leadership, strong work ethic and kind attitude. - ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department offers classes and resources to help hunters learn how to test deer for Chronic Wasting Disease—a a fatal illness affecting deer species and other wildlife. Hunters in monitored areas are urged to collect and submit proper tissue samples so officials can track the disease and decide if further actions are needed. KGAB

- ➤ On October 30th, Wyoming reported $1.86 billion in investment earnings from its savings account which holds about $32.5 billion—earnings generated by mineral severance taxes, interest, capital gains and dividends as detailed by CREG leader Don Richards. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ Cheyenne’s Sanitation Division said its seasonal residential yard waste program will end from November 17 to 20, with the final branch pickup on November 20. Residents may drop off yard waste year-round at the Compost Facility at 3714 Windmill Road from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—large loads are not accepted after 4:30 p.m. City of Cheyenne
- ➤ City officials announced modified operating hours for several city facilities and offices on Veterans Day Tuesday—residents should adjust their plans accordingly. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming applied for up to $800 million in federal funds to stabilize rural hospitals, expand its care workforce and boost preventive services under the Rural Health Transformation Program. The state will learn its funding decision by Dec. 31 + officials gathered more than 1,300 public comments during eight in-person and three virtual meetings. Cap City News

- ➤ The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team won a four-set road match at Boise State on Thursday — they led in key stats with strong kills and blocks to boost their season record to 13–11. The team will face Utah State on Saturday at noon in Logan as they continue their road swing. KGAB
