CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wyoming Arts Council awarded $150,000 in Creative Aging Project grants to artists and nonprofit organizations to develop and deliver 60 eight-week arts programs—supporting creative aging initiatives statewide. - ➤ Cheyenne's Kiwanis and Rotary clubs will donate hundreds of books to every second-grade library in LCSD1 as part of their Grateful Reads initiative from November 18 through 21—each student will receive a personal copy and each library will also get a copy to support lasting literacy efforts. - ➤ Chris Clark, a senior at Triumph High School, was named Laramie County School District 1's Student of the Week for the week of Nov. 17 due to his hard work and kindness. Born in Cheyenne, he is known for his high grades and creative style and will graduate early in January—he chose Amber Martens as his favorite teacher. Cap City News
- ➤ Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne was selected as one of 15 nationwide recipients for the Metallica Scholars Initiative—its seventh year. The program is expected to bring enhanced academic and leadership opportunities to the college and its students. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cheyenne Fire Rescue informs residents that prescribed burns will occur at F.E. Warren Air Force Base from Nov. 17 through Nov. 21 — weather permitting; residents may see smoke and heavy equipment nearby and are advised to keep windows closed and limit outdoor activity. City of Cheyenne

- ➤ Rep. John Eklund, a dedicated legislator who served since 2011 and supported Wyoming agriculture, passed away, leaving officials and community members deeply saddened—state leaders praised his kindness and commitment.
