- ➤ A new life-size bronze statue of Miss Frontier was unveiled last week outside the Old West Museum to mark 95 years of Cheyenne Frontier Days royalty. The sculpture—created by Joey Bainer—honors past and present rodeo queens and now stands in Frontier Park to welcome visitors. Cowboy State Daily
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming's offense struggled in a rainy game at Valley Children's Stadium as the Cowboys were held to 184 yards and lost 24-3 to Fresno State; Samuel Tote Harris ran for 96 yards while Kaden Anderson completed 6-of-23 passes. The Cowboys will host Nevada next Saturday at War Memorial Stadium. KGAB
- ➤ Wyoming's football team lost 24-3 to Fresno State Saturday night as a strong defense could not cover an offense that struggled to move the ball. The Cowboys will aim for six wins and postseason eligibility by winning upcoming games at home against Nevada and on the road in Honolulu — NFL star Josh Allen will have his jersey retired at halftime. - ➤ The Wyoming Cowgirls lost to Santa Clara, 76 to 45, Friday night as turnovers hurt their play — Santa Clara built early scoring runs that kept them in control. The Cowgirls now have a week off before they travel to face North Dakota next Friday at noon. KGAB
- ➤ Wyoming Cowboys defeated the Portland Pilots 93-56 on Saturday night at the Arena-Auditorium in front of 3,428 fans, with Leland Walker scoring 15 and Jared Harris hitting a career-high 16 (the team outrebounded the Pilots 48-31). The Cowboys will play their first road game next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Sam Houston State in Huntsville. KGAB
