  • UniWyo Credit Union branches now have special North Pole mailboxes where children can drop off letters to Santa if they include a return address to get a reply by December 12 at 5:30 p.m. The drop-off window runs from November 14 at 7:00 a.m. until December 12 at 5:30 p.m. — this holiday drive gives local families a festive way to start their season.  KING FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cheyenne South High School Art Club will host its annual Turkey Stampede 5K on Thanksgiving Day, November 27 — the race will take place at South High School.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Allie Cook, an eighth-grade student at McCormick Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week and will be honored for the week of Nov. 24 because of her strong academics, participation in ROTC and Science Olympiad, and active community service. She values her teacher Tara Lauterbach’s organized class and engaging discussions—qualities that have set her apart among her peers.  Cap City News

  • Cheyenne City Council is considering an application for a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant to rebuild the primary path at Cheyenne Botanic Gardens in Lions Park—if approved, the project will reconfigure and construct the pathway to enhance park access.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Dick Cheney was honored at a funeral held November 20 at Washington Cathedral, where family and leaders remembered his deep Wyoming roots and long service as vice president—highlighting his quiet dignity and commitment to family.   • On Friday, Cheyenne residents offered public comment on which materials children should access during a library board meeting as the Laramie County Library System approved new collection and reconsideration policies—policies that aim to address ongoing concerns about library content.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department confirmed chronic wasting disease in deer in two new hunt areas—Deer Hunt Area 106 in the Cody Region and Deer Hunt Area 150 in the Jackson Region—after detecting it in a male mule deer and a male white-tailed deer. The department said these new detections add to previous finds in nearby hunt areas and national parks.  Cap City News

  • Thunder Plains has transferred race operations ownership and approved race dates for 2026 as part of Will Edwards' effort to bring live horse racing to Laramie County. The mile-long track under construction is located 10 miles east of Cheyenne.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
